Books, books and more books!

**Warning: this is a long-ass entry**
I love books. I am a bookworm. Reading is one of my hobbies. I have 5 shelves full of books in my room.

Two out of the above four statements are false. One of the above statements is false following the false two statements. Like, if A = B and B = C, hence A = C. That kind of thing.

I don't love books. I only like them - a little bit more than normal people do. Love is a strong word for me. Kak Nani loves books. I like them.

I am not a bookworm. I was a self-confessed bookworm. But now I only really read books when I have other urgent things to do. For example, finish up an assignment, study for exam, memorise Surahs for KAFA exams, write a paper, clean my room, etc. You get the drift. Somehow, I manage to read thick novels and do those other urgent things, and still succeed in finishing both tasks, something of which wouldn't have happened if I don't have urgent things to do. No urgent things = novels won't get read = urgent things won't get done.

Which is funny to me. Reading books are supposed to be a leisure time thing, no? Weirdly, if I have a lot of free time, I find myself procrastinating. Not reading books, but procrastinate.

Hence, reading is not one of my hobbies. I mean, I like reading, but I won't say it is my hobby.

That left me with only one true statement: that I have five shelves full of books in my room.

Books make me happy. More than anything else. After good foods. And video games. In that order.

So, when the government decided to give us students RM200 worth of book vouchers, I was like, fuck yes! Sure, it would be nice if we receive RM200 cash, tapi kau ingat kerajaan bodoh sangat nak bagi cold hard cash dekat pelajar? Orang bagi duit PTPTN untuk beli buku pelajaran, kau pegi beli motor baru, handphone baru, belanja awek baru. Sekarang padan muka, nak tak nak kau kena beli jugak buku dengan baucar RM200 tu. Wek wek.

So yeah, last Friday I headed to Borders to check out what books can I buy. RM200 is A LOT of money to spend on books - at least for me. I'm the type who's stingy. I don't want to spend more than RM25 on a book that I'll only read once. Sebab tu gua suka gila kedai buku secondhand kat Chowrasta tu.

Aaaaaaaand *drum roll*, look at what have I bought!
Five of Paulo Coelho's books - because I love Paulo Coelho. Yes, love.
Travel guides to Paris and Italy - just in case one day I step foot in either of those countries. Oh wait. I've just realised it only says Paris and not France. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan. Look at what 70% bins at a bookstore have made me. A bimbo, ironically.
Daniel Hecht's Puppets - it's a crime thriller. I like crime thriller. I don't like chick lits.
Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights - because you can't leave this world without reading Wuthering Heights. Or Pride and Prejudice. Or Little Women. I have a soft spot for classics even though it'll take years for me to finish one book. Except for the last two I've mentioned.

So the total was RM232.55. Technically I only spent RM32.55. Whee! I love free money.

I know I should've spent the money on books that have something to do with my study instead. But to my defence, they don't have it here. I need to order it online. And they don't accept the vouchers for online orders. Boohoo. So, story books it is. :)

Excuse me while I figure out how to stuff my newly bought books in my (full) bookshelves.

Thank you, government!

I'm so happy, I can barely breathe. Puppy dogs and sugar frogs and kitten's baby teeth! [10 points for whoever get this last paragraph. ;)]
